The rain is still about but the sun has shown itself too - spring has officially sprung.
With our hands subject to freezing temperatures over the past few months, and mostly hidden away in gloves, it’s time to get them out and prep them up ready to be seen.
Thankfully, there are some great eco-products in gorgeous spring colours, giving us all paws to be proud of.
Butter London
Butter London can always be relied upon to produce on-trend, fabulous nail colours that are free of all the nasty stuff. The spring/summer fashion shows were full of rich, beige nail shades. Hands were well kept but low maintainence.
Butter London’s aptly named ‘Fash Pack’ colour fits the bill, and looks effortlessly cool with both workwear and after office hours. ‘Muggins’ is a pale purple shade not dissimilar to the colour seen on Olivia Palmero and Amber Le Bon. Pale is definitely interesting, and this nail colour is no exception. All are priced at £12. If you’re feeling decidedly flash, get your nails well and truly ready with Butter London’s treatment pack. It’s a tad expensive at £60, but will last a few seasons and guarantees strong, healthy nails ready for the elements. Buy from strawberryandcream.com.
Mezaya
Mezaya have a great shade named ‘English Teal’, a rich blue that adds an instant colour pop to any outfit. It’s a fun shade that will bring a smile to anyone. For something a little tamer, try ‘Pink Jelly’, a pale pink that suits the seasons pastel trend brilliantly. Polishes are priced at £8.95 each.
To file nails into the perfect shape, get your mitts on their nail file. As it is made of glass it’s very environmentally friendly and will last a lifetime. They’re also very handy and travel-sized so can just pop into your handbag and use on the move. Priced at £3.75. They also have a biodegradeable nail polish remover (£8.95) perfect for people like me who change their nail polish as much as their outfit! . All available at toxicfreeboutique.com.
Zoya
Zoya have a great range of shades for this season, whether you prefer a deep, eye-catching colour or you’re more of a wallflower. ‘Bailey’ is a pink glitter that would look great with a ditzy floral print. ‘Ginger’ goes to the other extreme, being a deep, metallic orange that suits a tan perfectly. Red, glittery lips were a huge thing on the recent catwalks, so get ahead of the game with ‘Delilah’. The perfect red glitter to vamp up any outfit. ‘Avril’ and ‘Brizia’ are great stone shades perfect for spring. All nail colours are £9.95.
Before painting nails, treat them to Sparitual’s cuticocktail for £8.95. It encourages nail growth and keeps cuticles in good condition. They’re impeccable, chip resistant top coat (£8.95) is the perfect way to finish off any paint job. Just add a heap of A’kin’s unscented intensive hand, nail and cuticle treatment (£7.49) and you’re good to go! All available at lucyrose.biz. Zoya, Sparitual and A’kin images courtesy of Lucyrose.biz
